IAPS Young Researchers Workshop

IAPS YRW will be held prior to the 22nd IAPS conference Human Experience in the Natural and Built Environment: implications for research, policy and practice in Glasgow, Scotland, on June 24th all day and in the morning of June 25th 2012. Masters and PhD students are invited to submit their in-progress work.

IAPS YRW is intended to give postgraduate students of all IAPS-relevant disciplines an opportunity to discuss their research proposals and on-going work with leading scholars and academics, and to build international networks with other students in the field of people-environment studies. Research work from Masters’ students will be considered only if near completion.

Each student will have 2 mentors as accompaniment during the whole process after acceptation of the abstract. Senior researchers will guide through the 1,5 days workshop and give opportunities for interchange in innovative formats like “world café” and “science slams”. In advance of the conference, some students are selected to present their work and discuss it in one of the sessions of the workshop with their peers and the Senior Researchers. The Workshop language is English.

The winner of the best full paper presented at the IAPS YRW receives a 5-year IAPS membership; their paper will be published in the IAPS Bulletin and in the post-conference book as a short communication.
